This collection of safety negatives documents a portion of Jack Klumpe's work as a photographer for the Cincinnati Post. The history of the greater Cincinnati area is documented through portraits of famous people such as presidents (Kennedy, Nixon, Reagan, Bush), governors (Laushe, Gilligan, Rhodes), sports stars (Ezzard Charles, Johnny Bench) and entertainers (The Beatles, The Monkees). This collection also includes news events such as accidents, construction, and other local news events. Landmarks such as Crosley Field, Fountain Square, Riverfront Stadium, Union Terminal, and the Cincinnati Zoo are also included. Jack Klumpe also covered a wide range of sporting events including the games of the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, Royals, Xavier University, University of Cincinnati and local high school teams.
